El Jueves 7 de Noviembre, como parte de la Iniciativa de Prosperidad Escolar de Denver y siguiendo las instrucciones de la Limitación Ejecutiva 18 (EL-18), el superintendente recomendó nuestra escuela como una escuela que podría cerrar.
El Jueves 21 de Noviembre, la Junta de Educación votó para aprobar esta recomendación. Esto significa que la Academia Internacional de Denver cerrará al final del año escolar 2024-25.

SchoolChoice
Como parte de esta transición, tendrá la oportunidad de participar en el proceso de SchoolChoice para seleccionar la escuela que crea que se adapta mejor a las necesidades y aspiraciones únicas de su estudiante. Los estudiantes de IAD tendrán una prioridad de cierre escolar en el proceso. La ventana de solicitud de la ronda 1 de SchoolChoice se abre el 15 de Enero de 2025 a las 10 a. m. y permanecerá abierta hasta el 18 de Febrero de 2025 a las 4 p. m. La Academia Internacional de Denver en Harrington cerrará al final del año escolar 2024-25 y pasará a formar parte de la zona de inscripción central/Greater Five Points existente. Esta zona incluirá Columbine, Swansea, Garden Place, Cole Arts and Science Academy, University Prep - Arapahoe, Whittier y Wyatt Academy.

Dear IAD Families,
On Thursday Nov. 7, as part of the Denver Schools Thrive Initiative, and using direction from Executive Limitation 18 (EL-18), our school was recommended by the superintendent as a school that could close.
On Thursday, Nov. 21 the Board of Education voted to approve this recommendation. This means that the International Academy of Denver will close at the end of the 2024-25 school year.

SchoolChoice
As part of this transition, you will have the opportunity to participate in the SchoolChoice process to select the school that you feel best fits your student's unique needs and aspirations. IAD students will have a closing school priority in the process. SchoolChoice Round 1 application window opens on January 15, 2025 at 10 a.m. and will remain open through Feb. 18, 2025 at 4 p.m. Learn more about SchoolChoice here.
International Academy of Denver at Harrington will close at the end of the 2024-25 school year and will become part of the existing Greater Five Points/Central Enrollment Zone. This zone will include Columbine, Swansea, Garden Place, Cole Arts and Science Academy, University Prep - Arapahoe, Whittier and Wyatt Academy.
Next Steps
Staff members from the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team will be assigned to our school and will be working with families at our school to support us through closure. Every school will have an engagement meeting scheduled before Dec. 21. We’ll reach out to let you know when our meeting is scheduled.
